Doodle Fiction
• Literary presentation where the author incorporates doodle writing, drawings and handwritten graphics in place of the traditional font. Example is "The Diary of Wimpy Kid" by Jeff Kinney.
Manga
• Japanese word for comics. It is used in the English-speaking world as a generic term for all comic books and graphic novels originally published in Japan. Example is "Sailor Moon".
Graphic Novel
• Narrative in comic book formats in which the story is conveyed to the reader using a comic book. Example is "Archie
Similarities
All genres incorporate drawings, illustrations or graphics in telling a story.
Differences
(in terms of structure and items). Doodle Fiction incorporates handwritten graphics. Graphic Novel uses a comic book format presented in panels, and read from left to right unlike Manga which is read from right to left.
